What made Chris Brown a phenomenal recording artist in the RNB genre is a combination of talent, inspiration and a very auspicious fortune. With these three factors, he became a young icon cited in comparison to many veteran RNB artists like Usher and even Michael Jackson himself.

But if character shapes one’s destiny, as the eclectic ancient proverbs attest, Chris Brown is a perfect example of how one’s stardom gets ruined by the lack of emotional control. Everything changed when he was convicted of brutally assaulting his girlfriend Rihanna, who is also a spectacular female RNB star. It was believed that his violent behavior was a result of growing up in an abusive and complicated family.

This event made Brown the very first male music contemporary artist to lead and have his debut album dominate the music charts since Diddy. The Chris Brown album turned platinum as was certified by the Recording Industry Association of America, signifying a great start in Chris Brown’s career.

Around 2004 and at the age of 13, Chris Brown began what appears to be the formative stage of his music career under the discovery of Hitmission Records and later, of Def Jam Recordings. Chris Brown’s appearance in show business began with his supporting role in the 2007 movie Stomp the Yard. At the age of 16, Chris Brown was already showing promise of what he would later become after several years – for better or worse. Immediately after his success in Stomp the Yard, he received another acting contract titled This Christmas.

Furthermore, ‘Run It’ was dubbed as the de-cranked edition of Usher’s “Yeah”.  As a new song by a rising artist, it had received so many critical reviews from both the spectators and the contemporary music experts; however, most of them were positive criticisms. Commercially, “Run It” was a complete success as was proven when it hit the American music billboards.

Chris Brown and Auto Tune

Chris Brown has released albums with hit songs and has been a chart topper for the most part of his career. Although Chris Brown did release songs that topped charts, it is evident that his vocal prowess is not that strong. Although he can sing, he relies a lot on auto tune. Auto tune is a plug-in or a program that connects to the microphone. This will pick up a tune and make sure that it is well in tune by automatically adjusting the notes in real time. One might ask, “What would Chris sound like without auto tune?” This remains to be heard but regardless of this fact, he is still one good R&B artist.
